Acquire the Fire, West Palm Beach, FL meetings

I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to West Palm Beach, Fl.  Bro Jack Duff, pastor of Spirit and Truth Tabernacle hosted the annual “Acquire the Fire” youth meetings.

Bro Jack invited me to be one of the speakers for the meetings and so I gladly spoke for two of the services.

Bro Joe Underwood opened the meetings with a topic of “Flames of Holy Fire” and I was on my feet as I heard him declaring that if your fire wasn’t lit by the Message of the Hour then it never really got lit.  I was so encouraged to be part of a group of ministers “lifting the hands of Moses” as it were. Bro Joe really inspired the young people to keep putting logs on the fire to keep it burning hot.  Things like their daily walk with the Lord, listening to tapes in their own free time, and coming to church help to keep things burning hot.  He used the following scripture:

And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.  ~ LEVITICUS 9:24

The next morning (Saturday) I spoke on a topic of “Lucifer’s Style of Worship“.  I used the following quote:

“Sin in its initial form is to reject the revealed Word of God, what God–or will of God. When God has revealed something as His will, and to reject that is to blaspheme, or to reject God.”

We talked about how Lucifer rejected the revealed Word/Will of God and there was no redemption.  I showed how we DO have redemption, but not if we knowingly reject the Word/Will of God.

That evening Bro Andrew Glover preached a good sermon on “He Cares”.  I loved how he took the story of the mother opossum and the little fishy to illustrate that if God cares for those little animals, He cares for you.  He said the devil lies to young people all the time by telling them, “no one cares”.  The young people were greatly encouraged and the Spirit of the Lord was indeed present.  Many were prayed for and the Scripture Bro Joe opened Friday with became prophetic of the meetings and God was consuming the altar of the young people and many could not help but fall on their faces before God.  I personally have not felt the power of God so strongly upon me as I’ve prayed for one young sister in particular as I have since being at Still Waters camp.

Sunday morning I delivered part 2 of what I was speaking on Saturday morning.  I took the topic of “Mixing“.  AfbleachandAmmoniater recapping part 1 I began to show what the Bible talks about on the doctrine of Balaam.  In a visual illustration, I typed ammonia to Moab and I typed Bleach to the Children of God.  I had both in front of the audience on a table with a little jar for mixing the two.  The brother in the front row was certainly concerned!!  I did not mix the two and no one in the audience wanted me to either!  I used this type to show how dangerous it is when we try to mix doctrines, culture, creeds, music, etc into the Word of God for our day.

Remember, it was a unpardonable sin, three times in the Bible, for any persons to add one word of their own interpretation to God’s Word after It had been vindicated the Truth.

In the garden of Eden, right, in the garden of Eden, one word added caused death.

When Balaam added the word, that, “We’re all the same,” they, God never did forgive Israel that. Every one of them perished in the wilderness, except the three that God brought out.

Sunday evening Bro Jack gave Bro Kenny Capps some time to give testimony.  Bro Capps spoke about his experiences with Bro Branham and gave witness to the things he had personally seen and heard.  He exhorted the people that even the little things the prophet said would come to pass.

Bro Andrew finished up the services on Sunday evening with “It’s going to take a stronger wind than this”.  He encouraged the young people that what they were going through wasn’t strong enough to defeat them as long as Jesus was in the ship to speak “Peace be Still”

There was much worship of the Creator during the meetings, along with plenty of fun songs the young people could jump and dance (appropriately) to!  A fun time and a blessed time to give honor to the King!  I enjoyed the services immensely and was able to play saxophone during the singing.

All in all the meetings were wonderful.  I pray that those who were touched, were touched in a lasting and impactful way.  I’m looking forward also to the day where we can sing and worship and NOT get worn out so bad!!  Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
