Are You Apostolic?

Some Brother down in Georgia drawed it for us over here as we went through the church ages. And we’re sure we can understand what this means. This white in the church here, that means it was all apostolic.

The true church of God has always been, and always will be apostolic.
They believed in going to church.
They believed that God used the ministry, and the gifts.
They believed in signs and wonders following the church.

Brother Branham taught us that “as long as God is still calling, the apostolic age still goes on“. So look into the mirror of God’s Word, and see, ‘Are You Apostolic’?

I. Is going to church apostolic?

“And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” ~ St. Luke 4:16

“Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.” ~ Acts 17:2

…usually it’s my custom to go to church somewhere on Sunday, if I possibly can.

And this little deer will get out to itself, away from the herd. That’s the one the wolf works on. And to you, old man or woman, when you separate yourself from believers… People say, “I can stay at home, be just as good a Christian as I can at church.” You can’t.
The Bible said, “Not forsake our assemble ourselves together, and that much more as we see the time coming.”
If you’re a Christian, you long to go where other Christians are, and fellowship with other Christians. So you cannot stay away from church and live the same life. You–you can’t do it, because it’s like, “I–I–I–I’m hungry, but I’ll never go to a table. I just… I’ll never eat. I just–I ain’t going to do it.” See? You’ve got to go and feed on the Word of God, and fellowship one with another.

Our Lord Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and Brother Branham all attended church when possible. This is apostolic. ‘Are You Apostolic’?

II. Will an apostolic church preach the Gospel?

“And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” ~ St. Mark 16:15

“These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come.

Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” ~ St Luke 10:1-2

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?” ~ I Corinthians 12:28-29

“And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” ~ Ephesians 4:11-13

Any man that can stand in the pulpit and look upon the sin of this day, and not cry out, there is something wrong with that man.

Q349. Now. Brother Branham, is it true that no one should preach but you? We have seen your–we have seen you ordain men. We do–don’t believe you would do that if there were not–if they were not to preach.
Mercy. Brother, sister, ever who told you that nobody’s to preach but me, I’d sure be a poor subject to God with all that. No. Every man or that feels a call of God upon his life, get into the ministry and start preaching; we need them.

This morning I wanted to hear Brother Neville, myself. And I heard him many times, and never heard him any time but what I appreciated him. But this morning, that timely message, I know I had the leading of the Lord to listen to that this morning. Very fine! And I see why you people like to come and listen to him, also. And he’ll always do you good, I’m sure, to listen to him.

Even when Jesus was on earth in a physical body He ordained, and sent out men to preach the Gospel. The Apostle Paul sent out brothers like Timothy to preach the Gospel, and taught of a true five fold ministry. Brother Branham ordained men to preach the Gospel, and even encouraged others to listen to them. This is apostolic. ‘Are You apostolic’?

III. Should signs and wonders follow the apostolic church?

“And these signs SHALL follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. ~ St. Mark 16:17-18

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him;

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will?” ~ Hebrews 2:3-4

“Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” ~ Romans 15:19

Now remember this. Christ in the True Church is a continuation of the Book of Acts.

And now look what the church has done. It’s either got off on a bunch of fanaticism, and either went real starchy and stiff and take none of it. But, brother, there’s a middle of the road where the real true Gospel is preached and the–the real true Bible signs and wonders following; a sweet Holy Spirit leads that church. That’s the kind of church to go to, an intelligent church, preaching the Word, standing on the Word, with a real full Gospel sermon, real Spirit of God; everything in the Spirit, everything is decent, everybody in order, everything in love; that’s the kind of a church we want. How many wants to belong to that church?

I believe in the signs and wonders following the believers. That’s exactly what God said. That’s what I stand by. That’s what I believe.” And I know that it’s true.

Our Lord Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and Brother Branham all believed in signs and wonders following the true church of God. This is apostolic. ‘Are You Apostolic’?

I certainly appreciate this article, it is the truth. I have believed and preach this myself for over 40 years. May God continue to bless both of you as you stand for Him and His Word.
